Sherbrooke Community School Sherbrooke Community School is a small Prep - 12 government school that has been operating since 1985. During that time it has been recognised for its innovative practices. With a capped student population of 160, students are grouped into four teaching teams; Prep - year 5, years 6 - 8, years 9-10 and VCE students years 11 - 12.The school has 17.2 equivalent fulltime staff, 2 Principal class, 21 teachers and 6 Educational Support Staff. The school continually builds self- esteem through our student chaired daily morning meeting, mentoring program,annual roundtable assessments and musical and drama performances. Students are encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities in our active environmental group, amateur radio club, "Sherbachino Café" restaurant or our bike touring group. Sherbrooke has been awarded for best Eastern Regional school for innovative practices including the Shire of Yarra Ranges 2009/10 Habitat awards for sustainable practices. Sherbrooke also has unique sister school relationships with The Early Learning Centre in Bhutan and Kiaping in southern China with further teacher and student visits planned. Major upgrades of facilities are currently underway with years 6-8 and VCE students moving into a new building in March and the new Prep-5 building about to commence construction.
