Lockwood Primary School (current enrolment 161) is situated in an expanding rural/residential area, 14 km southwest of Bendigo The school buildings are designed to capture the rural identity that has been indicated as a priority by the school community. The school is very proud of the contribution it makes towards the education of our local community. The school has 12.8 equivalent full time staff: 1 Prinicpal class, 8.7 Teachers and 3.1 Education Support Staff. The school has well equipped faciltites which include an Art Room, Library, Computer Lab, I.T. & I.W.B. enabled classrooms and a Multipurpose facility with kitchen. Our vision statement is "Learning, Caring, Laughing Sharing." and these values strongly reflect the calm school tone. Features of our curriculum include: Reading Recovery, Visual Arts, Instrumental Music & Choir, Information Technology, Health, Library, and Physical Education. Other programs include: You Can Do It, Camps for grade 1-6, Leadership Initiatives, Bike Education, Peer Mediation, Junior School Council, Tournament of Minds and Energy Breakthrough. The school operates an Outside School Hours Care program which operates from 7:00-8:30am and 3:30pm until 6:00pm.
