Epsom Primary School was established in 1881 and is situated in Howard St, Epsom, in Bendigo's northern growth corridor. Around 172 students are enrolled. The school has built a strong reputation in delivering a diverse curriculum in a caring, positive and welcoming environment, which values all students as individuals and comprehensively prepares them for secondary education. The school community is very supportive of the school and works in partnership with teachers and students to provide extensive educational opportunites for our students. Whilst some of the school's buildings are aged, they are very well cared for. Federal funds have been utilised to replace all floor coverings and internally paint buildings. Two new mod 5 relocatable buildings with adjoining gallery were constructed in 2010 providing two open learning spaces which house the Junior Learning Community. The school is well-resourced, with excellent information technology infrastructure, Library and Performing Arts room. Exemplary teaching occurs and successful intervention programs, such as, reading recovery and oral language programs are conducted. Staff work closely with Regional coaches to develop strategies to improve Literacy and Numeracy results. The school also conducts an English as a second language program for some students, performing arts program and a comprehensive sporting and physical education program for all students. Considerable housing and infrastructure development in Epsom in recent years has resulted in increased enrolments.
