Kilmore Primary School is located in Lancefield Road, Kilmore; an historic rural town 58km north of Melbourne. There are approximately 440 students enrolled at the school. Our school has 27 equivalent full-time staff: 3 Principal class, 24 Teachers and 7 Education Support Staff. Our Behaviour Management Program articulates the right of key stakeholders and focuses on developing responsibility as members of the learning communities. Respect, honesty, fairness, cooperation, friendliness & acceptance are seen as promoting a healthy, supportive and secure environment for all members of the school community. The school recently completed a facilities upgrade which included a number of triple and double learning studios, administration area, art room, library, hall, ICT centre, separate playground areas for Prep-Grade 2 and Grade 3-6 students, and a fitness circuit. Construction of a new sports stadium is almost complete. Policies and programs ensure a current and relevant curriculum, encompassing the Victorian Essential Learning Standards, professionally delivered in a high quality, whole school approach to teaching and learning. Extensive curriculum support and enrichment programs such as, Reading Recovery and Oral Language Intervention programs enhance the eight key learning areas. Before and after school care operates on the school site five days a week.
