Port Fairy Consolidated School is an amazing combination of magnificent bluestone structures and modern architecturally designed learning studios; however it is the partnership of children, families, staff, friends and our community that creates the climate for our students to reach their full potential academically, socially, creatively and physically. Our students are guided and supported to develop a passion for learning and a rich set of knowledge and skills that will allow them to successfully navigate the technologically-rich, globally focused 21st century. PFCS has 19 staff (EFT), with 13 teachers and 5 Educational Officers working collaboratively in teaching teams to develop, plan, facilitate and evaluate the provision of authentic, personalised learning. The core subjects are enriched by quality intervention and acceleration programs in numeracy and literacy, as well as specialised, high-quality programs in the performing arts, visual arts, physical education and science. The inclusion of specialist teaching of Asian culture and languages embedded in the curriculum, with a focus on Japan and the Visual Arts, is strengthening the global perspective of learning at PFCS. PFCS is a living, breathing, sustainable school as evident in the water we capture to drink and water our plants, the renewable energies that power our school and our vegetable gardens that grow food for our café and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. Being in a friendly environment helps everybody feel connected and builds a foundation for participation and achievement.
