Iona Public School, a small school of three classes, is located in a rural community just outside Maitland. The school fosters our mission statement 'Learning Together in Harmony' while being sensitive to the specific needs of individual students. All students are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning and actions and to develop as responsible citizens. They are encouraged to develop the confidence to take risks so that they are able to achieve to their highest potential and develop social skills which enable them to be empathetic and happy citizens. The care, support and progressive teaching and learning which occur at Iona Public School provide the foundation for the excellence achieved in many academic, cultural and sporting areas at our school. We have a very caring, supportive and interested community who are highly involved with the ongoing education of our students.
