Buronga Public School is a P5 school located in the south-west corner of the state, catering for 80 students, 40% of whom are Aboriginal. The school prides itself on its community partnerships and the development of innovative programs that support all students and their individual learning needs, with literacy and numeracy as the major focus. The school is committed to developing competent, responsible and enthusiastic students by providing relevant and challenging learning activities. Our aim is to encourage independent learning, self-esteem, tolerance and self-discipline in a safe and harmonious environment. A dedicated and caring staff values quality educational programs, student welfare, positive parent and community participation and open communication. Students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of cultural and sporting activities which enable them to interact with other students in the district. The school has a strong foundation as a community centre, providing a home for supported playgroups, TAFE courses and out of school hours care.
