Located approximately 4km west of the Adelaide CBD, Thebarton Senior College offers a variety of programs for more than 1000 senior secondary students, including the only adult 'New Arrivals' program in the English language for newly-arrived migrants and refugees. The Skills Centre was established as a sub-school and a registered training organisation. All teachers in The Skills Centre have gained the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment so that students gain nationally-recognised credentials for their learning. For two consecutive years, The Skills Centre programs have been recognised for their excellence and innovation by winning SA and national Training Awards. Pathways through the college have been developed following the Australian Core Skills Framework and the South Australian Certificate of Education so that all students can study at an appropriate level and follow clearly-defined pathways to further education, training or work. The college is also a United Nations Global Peace school and its values of respect, excellence and innovation permeate the relationships and curriculum in the college.
