Gowrie Street Primary School is a school of 283 students located in the Neighbourhood Renewal area of Shepparton. It services a rich culturally and linguistically diverse community represented by Indigenous, ESL, Refugee and Anglo-Australian families. The educational program prioritises Literacy, Numeracy, and School Wide Positive Behaviours. The focus is foundational language, literacy and numeracy acquisition particularly in the Early Years. This is complimented by specialist areas of Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education, Culture and Student Leadership programs which cater for and develop the skills and talents of all students. The welfare of all students is paramount. A breakfast and lunch program operates daily for any child in need and students are supported with a Welfare Officer, Chaplain, Classroom Teaching staff (18), Specialist Teaching staff (3), Preschool, Occasional Care and Playgroup (4), Office Staff (3), ESO staff (7), Literacy and Numeracy support staff (2) and the Smith Family After School Learning Club.
