Labertouche Primary School has a current student population of 26. With open planning learning spaces and school grounds which are extensive, well maintained with the feel of open parklands. Students enjoy a large modern playground, a synthetic basketball court, a football oval, a cubby and an indoor sandpit. The school has a workforce composition of 2.9 with a Teaching Principal, one other classroom teacher(1.0), a part-time specialist in Art and a MARC van teacher who visits on a bi-weekly basis. As well as an ESSO workforce composition of 1.3. With a computer ratio of 1:2, we integrate ICT across the curriculum and have implemented a 1 to 1 laptop program for students’ years 3 – 6. Our school has been working to improve the student learning outcomes in numeracy over recent times and over the past year has been working with the Tarago Cluster PLT in partnership with Teaching and Learning coaches to improve teaching practices in numeracy. Low class numbers and a higher staffing ratio allow more one on one time with students. Our school values are have been devleoped in partnership with the school community and are LEARN, CARE, RESPECT, SHARE. Labertouche Primary School is part of Tarago Cluster of small schools which provides a range of activities for students and allows teachers to meet weekly to discuss teaching and learning in a small school setting.
