Mooroopna Primary School has a long history of providing education for all students in our community. Our 298 students represent a variety of backgrounds including 18% Indigenous Australians and 50% of families receiving EMA. Our focus is on 21st century learning with the child at the centre. We are committed to supporting individual students’ academic, social, emotional and personal growth. A social worker leads our student support team. With support from Educator in Residence, Professor Loretta Giorcelli, we are committed to Inclusive Schooling. Mooroopna Primary School has 23.0 equivalent full time staff: 2 Principal class, 16.3 teachers and 4.7 education support staff. Our guiding principle is to engage all students in a challenging and relevant curriculum. Our programs ensure every student reaches their full potential. Maths and English are a priority for our school. We emphasise social and organisational learning and provide extensive visual and performing arts programs, with our choir and annual concert providing students with the opportunity to showcase achievements. A strong sporting program allows students to participate in a wide range of sports at school, local and state level. Classes moved into our new BER building in July. This modern learning environment provides 21st Century Learning spaces and complements our existing high quality buildings.
