Timor Primary School was established during the Gold Rush period of 1873. The main school building has significant historical importance to the local community and continues to be used effectively as classrooms and learning space today. The school is one of 20 schools in the Goldfields Network in the Loddon Mallee Region. There are two multi-age classrooms consisting of a Junior class (P/1/2) and Senior class (3/4/5/6). There are currently 31 students enrolled at Timor. The school is proud of the diversity of its curriculum including the specialist areas of French, Music, Art, and ICT. The school has 3.0 equivalent full time staff: 1 Principal class, 1.4 teacher class and .6 Education Support staff. A major focus for students at Timor Primary is to develop a caring and nurturing attitude towards their peers. The 'Restorative Practice Philosophy' is used in building student relationships. We regularly have whole school activities that enable students to interact positively with each other, developing strong friendships and building on cooperative learning skills. The ‘You Can Do It’ Program scaffolds student understandings and provides students with the opportunity to establish life-long skills to achieve success. The school encourages commitment from students and families to achieve the highest possible outcomes individually and as a community in all learning areas.
