Holy Spirit Primary North Ryde is a Catholic systemic school within the Archdiocese of Sydney. The core values are care, compassion and respect for the dignity of all people. The school is committed to providing high quality education in an inclusive, supportive and challenging environment which equips all students with the knowledge, skills and values necessary to live just and fulfilled lives. We have specific programs to support students with learning needs and for the gifted and talented students. We provide strong foundational learning in Religious Education, Literacy and Numeracy in an integrated eLearning environment supported by a variety of technologies and specialist teachers. NAPLAN results indicate high levels of proficiency in both Literacy and Numeracy due to the targeted intervention programs to support students. Some special features of the school are the comprehensive Physical Education Program, which provides many opportunities for students to participate and compete in a variety of sports programs and events such as Gymnastics, Swimming, Rugby League, Soccer, Athletics and Martial Arts. We also have a very strong Creative Arts Program including specialist programs in dance and music. Opportunities are also given to students to participate in the following programs: Leadership, Tournament of Minds, Future Problem Solving, ECO Team, Mini Vinnies, Chess, Ju Jitsu, Choir, Band, Specialist Dance Groups, Talent Quest and Public Speaking. Surveys conducted throughout the community showed that students across all grades have a great sense of well-being ranging between 75%-97%. Interviews conducted with parents also indicated a very strong satisfaction with all aspects of the school community. Our Pastoral Care Program is based on the principles of Restorative Justice and fosters student responsibility and self-discipline.
