Snowtown Area School is situated in a rural area in a beautiful farming district. Our aim is to make a positive contribution to the learning and well-being of our students and to develop engaged, confident and successful citizens. We value the contribution of youth to the wider community, as an investment in their own right and for our future. As such, we have developed a curriculum that promotes continual learning and is engaging and collaborative. Our students are always striving towards the goals of respect for self and others, the confidence to overcome challenges in life, to be enterprising, and to maximise their opportunities. Students are also encouraged to be resilient when faced with change. The school's values are respect, kindness, honesty and trust, and underpin the school ethos. Students at Snowtown Area School come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Families either work in the town, nearby towns or in agriculture on surrounding farms. The school offers a range of subjects R-12, in line with the South Australian Curriculum Standards and Accountability framework and South Australian Certificate of Education.
