Gawler East Primary School’s motto, ‘Learning is for Living’ is achieved by offering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters for a wide range of abilities in a safe and collaborative learning community. Our school vision is to develop a community of independent learners who are able to contribute as active members of society. Our mission is to provide a safe and positive learning environment that engages, challenges and empowers students to achieve their personal best. These ideals are underpinned by our school values of respect, responsibility, honesty and fairness. We offer a variety of education experiences, enabling each student to reach their potential by building on the skills, processes and understanding required for lifelong learning. While our focus is on the core curriculum areas of literacy, numeracy and science, we also offer drama/arts and Indonesian from Reception to Year 7, along with a focus on student wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and physical wellbeing. We offer a differentiated curriculum to successfully meet the various learning needs of students, ranging from students with disabilities to students with high intellectual potential (SHIP). The school has interactive whiteboards in every classroom and students have access to a range of technological tools to assist learning. All students have opportunities to participate in a wide range of sporting activities with numerous visiting coaching clinics and extensive South Australian Primary Schools Amateur Sports Association (SAPSASA) team representation.
