The School's mission is to provide excellent Bible-centred education in a caring Christian community, and to encourage the children to learn to serve God and others. One of the vision objectives is to train and encourage the children in Godly character and values. At Bethany Christian School, sharing, caring and serving as a member of the community is a major focus. The core values in the schools program are: Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Justice, Forgiveness, Accountability, Humility, Excellence, Perseverance, Service, Wisdom, and Faithfulness. Curriculum strengths are literacy, numeracy, ESL, adaptive education, and physical education. Student welfare programs involve pastoral care teachers, the school counsellor and the school chaplain. Another vision objective is to be a Christian school that 'excels in the grace of giving'. The students, under the organisational leadership of the prefects, support Samaritan's Purse and an orphanage in Indonesia, sponsor a child in Rwanda, and help needy local families. Extra-curricular activities include camps, sporting teams in local competitions, and SAPSASA and SACSA Athletics, Cross Country, and a wide array of other interschool carnivals. The whole school outdoor Christmas concert and a School Fair are two major annual community events.
