Catherine McAuley seeks to develop the diverse, spiritual, social/emotional and learning potential of all of our students. The school provides a robust curriculum which nurtures the holistic formation of students through rich understandings of the complex nature of children's work and the multifaceted ways in which children learn. The Mercy Charism underpins the life of the school and is reflected in our out-reach programs and networking with outside agencies and community groups. Religious Education programs promote social justice activities, facilitating responsible global citizenship. A Community Liaison Worker builds social capacity within the parent community and offers Playgroup and Early Years Learning for preschool children. We celebrate parents as primary educators working in partnership with the school to create a locus of ongoing, inclusive, contemporary learning. Specific programs support Defence families, Indigenous students, students with learning disabilities, social/emotional needs and English as a Second Language. Our Mentoring Program supports students with personalised wellbeing intervention. The school provides specialist learning opportunities in ICT, Expressive Arts, Italian and PE.
