We at Moomba Park P.S. are very fortunate to have a very positive school community who work in partnership with the school to support student learning. Our school community is very diverse. Our families come from many cultures and this is one of our great assets. In socio-economic terms we are grouped in the bottom 25% of the state when Student Family Occupation (SFO) and Language Backgrounds Other Than English (LBOTE) comparisons are made with all other schools in Victoria. This suggests that there exists within our school community significant areas of disadvantage. An indication of this is the number of families receiving the Educational Maintenance Allowance. Our challenge as a school community is to continue to work together to improve the learning for all of our students, targeting the diverse range of learning needs within our student population. The school improvement strategies will continue the emphasis on improving student learning with a particular focus on lifting the performance of students who are not yet at the expected levels. Our school data indicates that we add value to student learning, promoting high levels of achievement as students progress through the school. This school has an equivalent 20 fulltime staff, 2 Principal staff and 6 Education Support Staff and 296 students.
