Wantirna South Primary School, situated in the City of Knox, continues to successfully serve its community as it has for the past seventy years. Its growth from a rural school into a modern educational facility continues to develop with current building initiatives creating vibrant open learning spaces. The new developments support the request of the school community, ensuring the original style of the buildings and the country school atmosphere is continued. The new open learning spaces complement the large multi purpose facility, Arts complex, library resource centre and elearning centre. The spacious grounds embrace the history of the rural school engaging many sustainability initiatives, football oval, basketball courts and two adventure playgrounds. School Council and staff are dedicated to the school’s progress and success. The School Values of Care, Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Inclusion underpin all programs and interactions between students, staff and parents. This school has 17.4 equivalent full time staff: 2 Principal class, 11 teachers and 4.4 Education Support Staff. The school is totally committed to optimising every child’s academic, social, physical and moral development and believes that this goal is best met when parents, their children and school staff work closely and co-operatively together.
