Narromine High School, set on 5 hectares of well maintained grounds and sporting fields, is proud of its reputation for providing students with a rigorous and challenging curriculum. Students are annually accepted into universities, traineeships, apprenticeships and the work force. Known for our strong academic focus, vocational education is also a strength of the school. This will be increased in 2011 with the building of a trade training centre. Our external test results reflect ongoing student growth in literacy and numeracy. This is due to a highly qualified, dedicated staff who ensure learning is tailored to suit individual needs. The school is receiving funding through the National Partnerships program. A vibrant Student Representative Council and Junior AECG provides ongoing leadership development for students from Years 7 to 12, many of whom leave our school with a strong sense of duty to their community The school has an outstanding record of success at interstate, state and regional agricultural shows, where many champion ribbons have been won by members of the cattle and sheep show teams. The Arts are fostered through the Creative and Performing Arts faculty where students are engaged in art, music and drama. Students are encouraged to enter public speaking competitions and to learn the art of debating. We have a long tradition of producing national and international sporting champions. On the playing field there is a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and teamwork. Students enjoy modern facilities including a newly built language centre, refurbished science laboratories and well equipped technology centres.
