The Donald Primary School is a small rural school of 152 students. All children are equally respected and are actively encouraged to develop the knowledge, skills, independence, and beliefs necessary to achieve their personal best. Our aim is to develop the whole child -academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. These aims underpin our personal development values which ensures that each child has the knowledge, skills, and resiliency to be a successful learner. Our well rounded and robust curriculum is enhanced but not limited to some of the following programs - Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, Donald Developmental Play, Avocados (an emphasis on the 'basics' in all core subjects), numerous PE Programs, a variety of extracurricular activities including camps, special theme days, visiting school performances, and student leadership programs. We proudly boast a highly enriched ICT environment including an Interactive Whiteboard in each classroom, a 1:2 ratio for computers school wide and over 20 digital and video cameras. We are currently finishing stage 4 of our 'Big Shed' multipurpose project. Under the BER we wil be constructing a new toilet block, junior developmental play centre and a creative arts centre with extensive outdoor areas. Our school has 9.8 equivalent full time teaching staff, one Principal class and 3.5 education support staff members.
