Swanbourne Primary School is situated 15 minutes west of the Perth CBD. The school is approximately 1 km from the ocean. The school is an outstanding educational facility and was relocated to its present site in 2001. One of the features of the new school site is the fact that the 1.5 ha of land was set aside to acknowledge Aboriginal heritage. The school, indigenous people and wider community use it. The school has thirteen classes from Kindergarten to Year 7, education support classes and specialist programs in physical education, music, and intensive English for international students. The school has a Principal, two Deputy Principals, 20 teaching staff a registrar and support staff. All staff at Swanbourne Primary School are dedicated, passionate committed to the school ethos. The Federal Government funds a defence force transition officer to assist families from the nearby Swanbourne SAS barracks. The school is strongly supported by very engaged parents. The school has a strong sense of 'community'. The school Parents and Citizens group is the peak parent body for the school.
