Golden Grove High School is part of a unique consortium between public and private education. We are one of three schools that form the Golden Grove Campus. The schools share outstanding facilities to support learning that provides an exceptionally wide curriculum choice for senior students. We provide a challenging, relevant and coherent curriculum which promotes lifelong learning and produces responsible, resilient, independent critical thinkers and learners who act ethically and confidently in their personal, career and community life. High academic achievement, with a focus on developing the thinking skills of our students, is a priority. Higher-order thinking skills are explicitly taught in all learning areas at Year 8 and Year 9. Our school uses the Habits of Mind framework as a catalyst for nurturing a set of specific student dispositions to enhance our students valuing of education and learning. We are a Centre of Excellence in the Arts and have a well-established and vibrant special-entry dance program and outstanding facilities that support high quality performing arts programs. Our integrated Adapted Education Unit provides personalised support for 50 students who have an intellectual disability. We combine with one of the other campus schools to provide accelerated learning programs and extra learning activities that challenge students with a demonstrated interest and talent. We provide special interest sports programs in touch football and netball. We have implemented a 1:1 laptop program to support our ‘learning anywhere anytime’ belief. Our partnerships with our local community enrich the learning opportunities we can provide for our students, Our partnership with the local Tea Tree Gully Council facilitates an ongoing use of the Community Recreation and Arts Centre. Our school supports about 100 students of Australian Defence Force families and we are able to support the successful transition of these students to our school with a defence transition mentor.
