Birdwood High School has a strong focus on building a success-oriented learning environment for all students. We are also a leading school in the Industry Pathways Program with two Trade Training Centres in the areas of hospitality and automotive currently being built. Birdwood High School focuses on the '4 Rs': relationships, relevance, rigour and resilience. Our priority core value is respect of self and others. Situated in the Adelaide Hills on 18 hectares of land, the school has a strong agricultural bias and through the viticulture program produces its own red and white wine. Sustainability and well-being continue to be high priorities for the school. The school has new up to date facilities in the areas of home economics, music and media studies. A further capital works grant allocated to the school will soon see the redevelopment of the technology, performing and visual arts areas. Local communities have a strong sporting tradition and many of our students participate in local competitions/activities. The school takes part in interschool knockout sports throughout the year including rugby, cricket, football, netball, tennis, soccer, basketball and volleyball.
