Gepps Cross Girls High School has amalgamated with three other sites (Ross Smith Secondary School, Enfield High School and Gepps Cross Senior School) to form a new multi-campus secondary school. The school opened in Term 1 2011 as Roma Mitchell Secondary College on four separate temporary sites. A brand new facility is scheduled to open during Term 2 2011 and is purpose-built to engage students in 21st Century learning. It will provide state-of-the-art flexible learning spaces within three campuses: girls only, co-educational, and special education, co-located onto the one school site. We provide a rigorous, quality education for families living in the inner northern suburbs of Adelaide. Our school is designed to support students aspiring to university, TAFE and other community pathways. Students have the broader curriculum advantages of a large school and the security and support of being part of a smaller learning community. We are planning to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years program (IB MYP) which is an internationally recognised program for students in years 8-10. Students in the senior school (years 11-12) will study the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). Some students may also choose to study nationally recognised certificates in vocational education and training (VET) at the same time as they complete their SACE. We have a purpose-built Special Education Campus that caters for the learning, social and physical needs of students with intellectual disabilities. Staff in this campus are highly skilled in working with special needs students and undergo ongoing professional development in this area. Student placement into this campus is managed by our Regional Office staff through the 'special options placement process'. Roma Mitchell Secondary College also provides the option of a separate girls-only campus.
