Ferntree Gully North Primary School is highly committed to each of our 276 students. Our school is widely recognised for its academic excellence and for a broad-based education which balances the academic, social and personal development of its students. Our school has 21.5 equivalent full-time staff: 2 principal class, 14.5 teachers and 5 Education Support staff. Our curriculum has been designed to maximise opportunities for all students to experience learning success and to cater for a range of students' interests. Our diverse learning program includes specialist classes for all students in Physical Education, Performing Arts (Music), Visual Arts, LOTE (Japanese), Library, Environmental Education (Enviro Centre) and our exceptional School Production. A wide range of enrichment, extra-curricular and support programs operate within our school to build upon our already high levels of student wellbeing and engagement. A swimming program is offered and our comprehensive camping program is provided for students from Year 3-6. Our student leadership programs are a feature of our school, with our students independently running our Peer Mediation program, leading school assemblies and Year 6 students voluntarily participating in the Junior Rotary Program. The use of modern ICT facilities and equipment, specialised intervention programs and teachers working collaboratively in the delivery of curriculum, further enhances an engaging and flexible learning program. We also provide an excellent after school care program, managed by Camp Australia.
