Zeerust is 15 minutes north of the Shepparton CBD In 2010 Zeerust Primary School moved to a single classroom model where teaching was provided by 1.5 teachers including the principal. In 2010 we were able to plan learning tasks which could be stretched or shrunk to meet the individual needs of children. For some disciplines like mathematics, spelling and reading, team-teaching was the preferred approach.We made extensive use of student data to inform planning and teaching. Our socio-economic profile is high with an SFO of 0.33 and we have no ESL students. Due to our small numbers of students we do not always generate a 'score' for comparison with other schools in NAPLAN. It is also noted that data in small schools is notoriously volatile and specific comments are difficult to make when student confidentiality has to be maintained. In 2010 our financial position was artificially elevated by virtue of the fact we are the banker the banker school for a sub-regional leadership program. Non-attendence is not an issue at Zeerust.
