"Safe Happy Learn" At Thornton Primary School we aim to assure the healthy development of every child so that each has the knowledge, competency and resilience to be successful in today’s rapidly changing world. The school caters for the needs of all children through multi age classroom groupings and we foster open communication between parents, staff and students. Small class numbers allow flexibility and teaching of students at their level of learning. Thornton Primary School encourages children to be confident, organised, persistent, and resilient. These attributes are taught through Tribes. Children are able to play in a relaxed and friendly environment where tolerance and acceptance is highly encouraged. Thornton Primary school has 2.2 equivalent full-time staff: 1 Principal class {shared with Alexandra Primary School}, 2 teachers and 0.2 Education Support Staff. We offer Japanese as our LOTE program, while all students have science and technology based curriculum. We completed a refurbishment of the school with the learning areas of the school catering for small group and individual learning programs.
