Situated in the suburb of Horningsea Park, John Edmondson High School has a diverse drawing area that includes the recently developed suburbs of Horningsea Park and Greenway Park and the semi-rural and rural areas of Austral, Bringelly, Leppington and Rossmore. The school has been constructed under the Private Public Partnership program. A facilities management company is responsible for properties, maintenance, cleaning and security. Curriculum development is the central focus of this new and developing school, along with the integral issues of staffing, resourcing, community links and teacher professional development. The school's 2009-2011 priority areas aim for a comprehensive curriculum pattern that has explicit literacy, numeracy and ICT perspectives embedded in all subject areas, promoting student engagement in learning and resulting in academic, leadership and personal growth for all students throughout the six years of secondary school education. The school motto is 'Courage and Integrity'. We want our students to have enquiring minds and the courage to strive for their best, to respect their fellow students and teachers and develop the ability to honestly reflect upon their efforts.
