Shoalhaven Anglican School, founded in 1991, is a Pre-K to Year 12 co-educational day school offering comprehensive education within the context of its Christian foundation. With its sister school, Nowra Anglican College, Shoalhaven Anglican School forms the Shoalhaven Region Anglican Schools within the Sydney Anglican Schools Corporation. The School is founded on Four Pillars - Faith, Wisdom, Character and Service - and provides a rich learning environment that caters for a broad range of interests and abilities, characterised by learning enrichment and support activities. Over recent years it has also performed well in public examination results, consolidating its strong reputation in academic achievement as well as the creative and performing arts. Middle and Senior School students access academic and careers information through tertiary colleges, and attend appropriate lectures, music and drama performances in Sydney, Wollongong and Canberra. Shoalhaven Anglican School Musicians, artists and scientists visit the school. The curriculum offers a range of electives across all key learning areas. The use of technology is being increasingly used to facilitate learning and in particular Smart boards form an integral part of the Middle School with its core classes. The School also runs Hospitality as a vocational HSC course, and to date a number of our hospitality students have received awards and traineeships in the wider community, including Sydney. Community partnerships are being explored. The School's welfare policy places particular emphasis on restorative justice and the 'positive behaviour learning' model, which emphasises, and practises, concepts such as respect, resourcefulness and readiness. All students and staff are expected to work together to provide a positive learning environment, and consequences and behaviour are linked in discussions with students.
