Cannington Community College is a kindergarten to year 10 Government School located 8 km from the Perth CBD. The College offers a primary and lower secondary education program. The ethnic diversity of Cannington has increased in recent years and approximately 1 in 3 students come from a home where English is not the main language spoken. Approximately 1 in 10 students were born overseas. There are approximately 33 language backgrounds with the top 3 being English, Arabic and Turkish. Almost 30% of students live outside our intake boundary. Year 10 students leaving the College have priority enrolment at the nearby Sevenoaks Senior College. The Cannington Community Education Support Centre is co-located within the College and has its own principal and staff. The College has modern educational facilities and offers extension programs in drama and soccer. The College is structured around five Home Schools that support middle schooling principles and enables a very strong emphasis on pastoral care. In years 8 to 10, the students remain with the same core group of teachers for each of the three years. A Student Services Team supports the pastoral care program across the College.
