Somerly Primary School is centrally located in the suburb of Clarkson and is 33 kms North of Perth. The school commenced operation in 2009 with 240 students, student enrolments have continued to increase throughout the year. 2010 will see the school commence with over 500 students. We have a range of cultural diversity amongst our students. This is accommodated through our Dare to Lead: indigenous education initiative and English as Second Language support program. The school consists of 4 teaching blocks with 16 classrooms, art room, music room, library, undercover area, canteen, basketball and tennis courts, cricket nets and large oval. A dental clinic is located on the premises. Somerly Primary School operates with multiage classes and collaborative practices amongst staff are a critical focus within the school. Instructional intelligence forms the basis of the schools beliefs about teaching and learning. Community partnerships form an integral component of our school. Programs currently operating within the school include, Toddler Reading, Support a Reader, breakfast club, active after school care and the recently established before and after school care facility.
