Mount Lockyer Primary School provides a place where students will have access to evidenced based, innovative programs. The experienced, professional staff delivers a broad and challenging curriculum offering opportunity for students to explore and develop their talents whilst acknowledging that students learn at different rates and in different ways. We work together, adopting an inclusive whole school approach where all are accountable and responsible for the growth and development of every child providing opportunities for them to be the best they can. Access to funding through the National Partnership Literacy and Numeracy Program and Aboriginal Tuition Assistance Scheme (ATAS), which addresses literacy and numeracy for students in Years 4 and 6, assist to facilitate this goal. At Mount Lockyer we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment, an environment that has established processes, procedures and structures that create a school community where all stake holders share and are a part of the education of the whole child. An established Behaviour Intervention Centre and programs designed to cater for students’ emotional and social development provide support at point of need. We believe that enhanced student outcomes occur when we work in partnership with families and broader community. Early intervention strategies such as the establishment of a 0-3 Playgroup, a Community School Partnership Agreement and a focus on education beginning from birth through an established Communities for Children hub providing information, support and empowerment through education for parents.
