Newman Primary School is located in the town of Newman in the East Pilbara region approximately 1200 kms from Perth. Newman Primary School is ideally located adjacent to the central business area of Newman and close to many town amenities. Newman PS provides a safe and caring environment where all students can develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve their potential. Our staff are committed to ensuring that all students are recognised, supported and catered for. Students across the Kindergarten to Year 7 setting originate from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures including European, Asian and African. The school also currently has a 25% Indigenous and Torres Straight Islander population. The school learning environment is enhanced by the support of BHP Billiton Iron Ore and its many community based partnership programs. Our school council and P&C committee work together with staff to support student development. There is a strong sense of community within the school as processes have been established ensuring groups within the school feel valued and have a clear role within the operations and decision making processes.
