Marangaroo Primary is a large vibrant school situated in the northern coastal suburbs of Perth. We are a low socio economic school catering for children from Kindy, 4 years of age, to year 7, 12 years of age. Our Shared Vision and Core Values have been designed by parents, support and teaching staff. These articulate the school we want to create and describe the mental models we adopt to guide our behaviour and performance as students, staff and parents. We grow the dispositions of organisation, resilience, persistence, getting along with others and managing impulsivity in our students. Having a core business approach to teaching and learning events are minimised that draw time away from the core educational program. Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Society and Environment are the corner stones of our curriculum with a further focus on Health and Physical Education, Technology and Enterprise, The Arts and Languages Other Than English - Indonesian. Our school is characterised by one third of our student population being English as Second Language learners. Vietnamese, Arabic and Macedonian are the largest language groups and a total of 135 students represent the 25 language groups.
