Wonthaggi North Primary School has 346 students from diverse backgrounds. The school has recently undergone extensive building works and is situated in an identified growth area. Our great strength as a school is our ability to provide a positive learning environment with a broad range of opportunities for our students. The school implements a direct instructional approach to teaching in English and Mathematics and this is achieving excellent results. The English curriculum is supported by a very successful literacy intervention program. Our curriculum provides the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours students need to prepare for further education, work and life. Extensive multimedia equipment provides support and enrichment to all areas of student learning. Policies and programs have been developed to provide for students who have specific learning requirements and all students are given access to a quality education. The school is committed to the integration of students with disabilities and to those from non English speaking backgrounds.
