Mt Torrens Primary School is located about 50 km east of Adelaide in a picturesque Adelaide Hills setting. The school has a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and science as well as the arts and music. Our students experience success in a broad, balanced, relevant and challenging curriculum that promotes lifelong learning. Mt Torrens Primary is an integral part of the local community - students take part in a variety of activities including plant propagating, participation in Christmas street parades, KESAB projects and ANZAC and Remembrance Day ceremonies. All senior students participate in hand bell ringing lessons and entertain the wider community with their performances. School staff and many local community members work together to create a culture of ongoing improvement. The school's staff maintain close links with community groups, reflecting the school's importance to the local district. Students are encouraged to contribute to decision making through the Student Representative and Youth Environment Councils. Students are encouraged to participate in sports, bell ringing, Premier's Reading Challenge and Premier's Be Active Challenge. We are very proud of our school.
