At Surrey Downs R-7 School our mission is to develop all students as confident, competent learners who achieve success and maximise their potential. Our school values of respect, collaboration, compassion, quality and success are an integral part of our school ethos. Our aims are to improve student wellbeing and engagement, student performance and achievement in literacy and numeracy and to provide a challenging, inclusive curriculum. Our school offers specialist programs in information and communication technology, the arts, science and Japanese. All classrooms have SMARTBoard technology. Instrumental music instruction is available and our school has middle primary and festival choirs. A J Rock dance program is provided for students in Years 4-7. Specialist programs including an articulation program and a Funtastics - Gross and Fine Motor Program are available for identified students. Our school has two special classes for students with disabilities. The selection process for these classes is managed at district level. We offer extra-curricular activities including sport, netball, basketball, Book Cup, and the Premier's Reading and Be Active challenges.
