In 2009, our school has focussed on the use of finances, resources and personnel to ensure there is no wastage in the provision of purposeful pedagogy for our students. Our Mission Statement says, 'The aim of Mitchelton State School is to provide an environment that nurtures the potential of each student. Safety, respect and responsibility are valued and encouraged so that our students may become lifelong learners and effective members of society'. To achieve this goal, our Student Services team plans, resources and reviews all aspects of our school, through the Management, Intervention, QCAR and Behaviour Teams, to ensure that Every Day in Every Classroom, Every Student has the opportunity to achieve. Our students are supported through an ATSI program, Chaplaincy, an inclusive Special Needs Support program, and support for International and refugee students. We strongly support the performing arts, including our music program, and involvement in festivals that showcase this. We achieve well in sporting events at an interschool level, we run a summer sport program that enables children to be involved in a variety of sport activities. We emphasise the worth of community.
